Train the Trainer: Everyday Mentoring
Join us for a hands on workshop that will prepare you to conduct your own training with staff and volunteers to be mentors. You will learn new training methods that will enable you to:Enhance your team’s skills in helping youth thrive
- Encourage the development of healthy boundaries with youth.
- Use reflective listening to guide youth through challenging circumstances.
- Enable your team to apply the latest research* and methods in relationship development
This workshop will prepare you to lead a two-hour training, based on best practices that will enhance natural or formal adult-youth relationships. You will also learn several additional training modules which you can utilize to increase the length of the initial training, conduct follow-up training, or facilitate individual or staff development.
*This training is based on the research and developmental relationship models of the Search Institute.
All participants will commit to providing the training to their staff and volunteers during the following year. Free individual coaching will be provided to help you adjust the training for your community, build your confidence as a trainer, or for a refresher.
Ken Broermann has spent the past decade building and leading effective teams and programs. He believes there is nothing more powerful then when a group of people joins together to better themselves and their community. Currently, he is a Development Strategist with Zim Consulting and the Owner of Caboodle Consulting. At Aurora Youth Options, a program of Aurora Mental Health Center, he started a mentoring program and other youth services for youth at-risk. AYO served 6000 youth in the first six years of the program and won many awards. As a speaker, trainer and consultant Ken has helped nonprofit and faith-based organizations around the country advance their mission.
